I’ve been painting for 50+ years, but made the switch from acrylics to oils 4 years ago on the advice of a fellow artist. After having worked as a designer in the architectural field for my career in Texas my husband and I decided to move to Pueblo, CO. My interest in the old architecture of Pueblo is the subject matter for many of my paintings. I like to capture the ungentrified grit of the city and yet love the many natural scenes around Pueblo too. Basically untrained in painting, I am inspired by Claude Monet, Tom Thompson, Edward Hopper and Stephen Magsig. In teaching myself to paint I copied many of their paintings in order to learn their brush strokes to help create my own work.
